The Kalong Wind Power Project is located in Xaychamphon District of Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR not far from Ban Kalong and the Kalong river and close to the Vietnam border.
The general location of the project is estimated at coordinates 18°35'12.1"N 105°01'56.3"E (18.586694, 105.032306) as seen in image below.
Kalong Wind Power project is planned to have a capacity of 750 MW with investment capital of 822 million USD and a concession period of 25 years.
The project seems to be not far north of Lak Sao town and the completed and operating Truong Son Wind Power project.
As of year 2026 we aren't sure if construction has started yet. Also unsure if the area in Vietnam close to the project has available transmission capacity to take the output from the Kalong project in the near future. In 2025, very little transmission capacity there was not being used after the Truong Son project went online..
