The US$ 55 million dollar Tad Sakoi hydropower project will have a capacity of 30 MW.
The completed project is to operate under a concession agreement with the Lao government for a fixed period of years.
The project began construction in 2013 by Daosavan Company (Daosavanh Investment and Construction Group Co., Ltd.) (DICG).
In 2015 B.Grimm Power Limited (Thailand) conducted a study on the Tadsakoi hydropower project which identified its potential for power generation to supply electricity for Savannakhet province.
Subsequently in 2019 B.Grimm signed an agreement with Daosavan Company to jointly develop the Tadsakoi hydropower project. The two firms began construction but the project was delayed to ensure it complied with revised Lao national technical standards.
B.Grimm expected the Tad Sakoi hydropower project to come online in 2022 according to their promotional chart below.
The Tadsakoi hydropower project has an installed capacity of 30 MW and construction was initially expected to finish within 42 months.
Tadsakoi is not B.Grimm's first hydropower project in Laos as they have already completed construction of the Xenamnoy 2 and Xekatam 1 hydropower plant in Champassak province, the Nam Che 1 dam in Xaysomboun province and the Nam Khao project in Xieng Khouang.
