Xenamnoy 6 Hydropower project is located on the Bolaven Plateau in Paksong District of Champasak Province in southern Lao PDR.

The Xenamnoy 6 Hydro project is a run-of-river hydropower project with a very small head pond.

Nominal installed capacity is 5 MW and nameplate installed capacity is 4.918 MW. Annual electricity output for the project is 18.5 GWh for delivery to EDL for domestic consumption.

The project includes fixed weir, sand flush, intake structure, headrace channel, head tank, penstock, powerhouse with 2 units of turbine (2 x 2.459 MW) and a tailrace. Rated head is 180 meters.

The project was originally developed by Phongsubthavy Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd. but later incorporated into Xe Nam Noy 6 Hydropower Company Limited which in turn is now 100% owned by Chaluen Sekong Power Co., Ltd.

Construction of the project was completed in 2013 and the Commercial Operation Date (COD) is October 4, 2015.

Xenamnoy 6 Hydropower project cost was estimated at only US$ 12 million.

On 28 January 2011 Development Agreement (PDA).
On August 1, 2011, The MOU was signed with the government.
In 2012 started construction of the project.
On 24 July 2014, a power purchase agreement was signed with EDL.
On December 22, 2014, a CA agreement was signed with the government.
In 2013, state land use licenses were issued.
In 2013, the construction of the project was completed.
On October 4, 2015, the COD was completed.
In 2018, an investment license was issued.

On May 22, 2015 Environmental Certificate from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
On March 16, 2017 the initial detailed design certificate.
March 16, 2017 approved the completion of the project.
On January 11, 2018, the concession certificate was issued.
On September 10, 2013 Granted state land use rights.
On December 22, 2014 Project management agreement with Champassak Provincial Department of Resources.
On September 30, 2016, a business transfer agreement was signed between TK Group Co., Ltd. and Chaluen Sekong Power Co., Ltd.

XeNamnoy 6 Hydropower project is intended to qualify as a greenhouse-gas-reducing Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project under the Kyoto Protocol and receive carbon reduction credits since its clean green production may displace "dirty" polluting power plant production.
