On 25 February 2026 the Government of Lao PDR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Thailand-based APDL Solar Power Sole Co., Ltd. (ADPL) to carry out a feasibility study for a proposed 100 MW solar power project.

On 18 September 2026 the developers met with local community leaders to explain the proposed project that will install 211,007 dual-glass monocrystalline solar panels.

The solar power project is planned to be developed near Nam Ngiep and Khuay Oudom (Kuayoudom or Kuay-oudom) villages in Paksan district of Bolikhamxay province.

APDL would be developing the project along with India-based Kosher Climate India Private Limited.

The project site would cover about 140.23 hectares of land not far from the 5th Mekong Bridge and Paksan town.

Estimated location of the project is near coordinates - 18°25'57.0"N 103°35'18.7"E (18.432500, 103.588528) in image below.

The 100 megawatt (MW) project is expected to generate about 197 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity a year to be purchased by Electricity du Laos (EDL) for local consumption.
